Yep, there it was. I have Agent Ransack and never thought to search for
"fish."


The game is supposed to use DirectX 9 (Win10 is supposed
to have a fallback, but I haven't verified the status of
that lately).

Exiting Malwarebytes before opening the game stopped the freezing and the
"Engine stopped working" errors. The game actually works fine on W-10.
