Sometimes I design labels for people, using MSoft

But they know only MSoft Word, and will accept
only this.

I convert the label into PDF and then into MSoft
Word.

How can I convert from Publisher to Word in just
one step?

Could you simply Cntl-A Cntl-CÂ* and then into word Cntl-V
Select all, Copy then Paste into word?Â*Â*Â* I've never tried it but I do
a lot of copy paste from recipes on web pages and paste into word to
reformat.

We can try a test.

Mine opened in LibreOffice Draw. The HTML export option
is just awful.

I guess about all I could do here, is use the original
Publisher (which I don't have), then make a PDF. Maybe
their Word could open that.

7-ZIP opens the .pub file and makes it visible as
some folders. If you needed to extract some artwork,
it's a place to start, with no certainty you could go
further. That example.pub file might not be complicated
enough to see all the curveballs Publisher can throw.

The file EscherDelayStm visible in the ZIP,
seems to be an image file, but GIMP wouldn't open
it (maybe because I didn't put an extension on it).
From Win10 Bash shell, "file EscherDelayStm" says
it's "data", which means Linux doesn't know what it is
either. That's putting a damper on my fun.

OK, if you remove the first 25 bytes from EscherDelayStm
with a hex editor, it's a standard JPG. Which then opens
in the tool of your choice. Once edited, you can put
an extension on it and make it EscherDelayStm.jpg so
it'll work better from File Explorer.

But surely the stupid .pub has SVG or some other tricks
up its sleeve. The example file above might not be showing
the true colors of Publisher.

I tried the Pub Test and simply did a select all and copy and then
opened Libre Writer and pasted that. It looks identical. Yes, I might
have to change margins as my template has 1/2 inch margins but other
than that it's identical.
