Can I upgrade from Windows 7 32 bit to Windows 8 64 bit and not
have to reinstall all my programs?

No. You can not upgrade at all. The only to change the "bitness" of
Windows (any version) is via a clean installation. That will cause
the loss of *everything* on your drive.

Notwithstanding the accuracy of your reply, it seems you have lost
your "way" - or at least you have in the second sentence. :-)

That happens a lot in newsgroups. The fingers lose synchronization with
the brain, and words get dropped. I've done myself. :-)
