| I remember this from my DOS days - press CTRL-ALT-LSHIFT
| to stop the shift key "sticking"...
| -----Original Message-----
| Hi,
|
| I've recently updated my Windows XP system with all
| the Windows Updates
| and now I've got a huge problem. Whenever I open a
| command prompt (dos box)
| and run EDIT.COM then press the arrow keys, instead of
| the cursor moving
| around, a selection highlight is created. For example if
| I open a file with
| EDIT.COM and press the RIGHT arrow key, instead of the
| cursor moving to the
| second character in the line, the first character is
| selected (highlighted).
| I thought that it might be that the SHIFT key is stuck
| but it's NOT, if I
| press an alphanumeric character, the right character
| comes up instead of the
| shifted character (capital/lower case), also, pressing
| any other character
| brings up the correct one (1 NOT !), only the arrow keys
| seem to be
| affected.
|
|
| Any ideas? It's REALLY annoying.
