Head over to:

After signing in with your Messenger Windows Live ID, you'll first have to tick the
checkbox
to allow people on the web to see your status (be sure to click 'Save' at the top
afterwards). Then choose Create HTML and the option you prefer -- a IM window direct on
the
page, a button to open the window (with your status) or just a status icon on its own.

After that you personalize it to your choosing and then copy/paste the resulting HTML at
the
bottom to your site.
