scanning documents with a paper scanner

I figure the OP wants to operate his scanner from a script where he does
something before scanning, does the scan, and does something afterward.
He could even schedule the script. We don't know what optical scanner
the OP has because he never bothered to mentioned. Maybe, for example,
it has a multi-page feeder, employees are expected to slide in some

The OP never explained why he wants a CLI to some OCR software. Put a
thousand authors together to write up possible scenarios for the reason
the OP wants this and you get up to a thousand different stories.

He didn't actually say he wants OCR, though the fact that he used the
word "documents" might _imply_ that.
