They are.
That's what DNS is for.
Simply doing
ipconfig /displaydns
will show that they are being cached.
If they were it would be redundant caching.
A web page can reference a domain like images.mywebsite.org many many
times. It's worth avoiding multiple DNS lookups.
It's not a matter of sparing 12 MB RAM. There's no need
for the functionality because I don't have local networking.
