Default USB storage drive

First off, as mentioned...in the process of troubleshooting if you get a
message such as "drive is not formatted, do you want to format it?"

Do NOT do so.


First do the easy thing...try another USB port and try a different USB
cable.


If that does not good:

The drive *might* have failed however it's also possible the
electronics in the enclosure have failed or the power brick might have
failed.


Possibly the best thing to do is remove the drive from the enclosure and
install it as a 2nd drive in the computer.


Note: At least a few times I have seen failed "power bricks" that when
measured with a volt meter seem to be OK...but cannot hold voltage under
load


Good luck...there is a 50%+ chance the drive is still good.
