Thanks for your interest in my problem, and for suggesting a solution.

That thought had occurred to me also.
What I did is this:
1. disable the hibernate feature - this removes the file
hiberfil.sys.
2. defrag the hard drive. (my resoning was that, when I re-enable
the hibernate feature the file may not be located on the very same
space on the hard drive).
3. enabled the hibernate feature.

The problem continues . . . . . .
