Hello,

Canon tells his material not compatible with Win10. However I do
notice no issue after upgrading from Win 8.1.
My Canon is connected to 2 PC through an old Sitecom USB automatic 2

Other experience with this scanner ?

"Thanks, this worked for me.

I downouaded the Canon Driver for Windows 8.1 (64 bit),
and then I ran it in compatibility mode for Windows 8,
exactly as you instructed.

i thought I was going to have to scrap my perfectly
good hardware, but it's working fine again now!

there is always Vuescan...

As a long-time user of Vuescan, I support the suggestion that it is a
decent product worthy of consideration. However, the most recent driver
I see for the Canon 8800F is for Win 8.1:

I suspect that this may be yet another case where Win10 users in need of
drivers for particular hardware have to sit on their hands and hope.

Vuescan uses and AFAIK needs the drivers for the hardware. It tweaks the
output better than the bundled scanning software.

For some scanners Vuescan uses its own driver set. The link I provided
indicates that it will do so *if the user hasn't installed factory
drivers for Win8.1*, which is a welcome shift from Hamrick's recent
trend of only using factory drivers.

My thoughts are that if the OP's Win8.1 factory drivers fail in Win10,
Hamrick's might also fail.
