I have problems scanning documents.

To get a scan to work, I have to unplug the usb cable (that goes from desktop to scanner)

Then reopen my scanner app and then it scans.

I do not know what it would be called, but I could use something that would let me cut the connection between the cable and scanner without actually unplugging it.

I am probably to only person who has ever as for this. :-)

I am handy with electronics, so maybe there might be a way to cut into the cable and insert some switch?
