If you're trying to do a fresh install of XP, whatever it is your'e doing
isn't working. A fresh install won't give a refusal to install because of
what's there already; it will just go ahead and start the install process.

It doesn't sound like you're booting from the XP CD. Assuming you have the
CD, that's what you must accomplish. If you aren't getting a chance to boot
from the CD, you may have to go into your BOS settings and tell it to try to
boot from the CD first, and then from the hard drive.
Once you get that straight and boot from the CD, it'll come up with a
message about "press a key to boot from the cd ... " and when you do that,
you'll be in the install process. Next just delete and recreate the
partition, and let the screen instructions guide you.

Back up your data first, of course, as everything is going to get wiped out.
You'll have to restore your data back to the machine and reinstall the XP
hotfixes, probaby best with autoupdate, etc..
