You might even have used a third-party tool to modify
power schema. Like an overclocking tool or something.


This is a new laptop. It's pretty virgin. I've made a few registry mods
like turning off Cortana and removing the lock screen etc but nothing
serious or likely to have anything to do with this.
The toms guide post also mentions restoring your hibernation
setting, as appropriate. powercfg /h off . powercfg /h on.


Tried that. Same result. A nervous mouse is really not that big a deal.
I just hate the machine getting the better of me...

My bigger problem is after the 1809 update my brightness control became
intermittent. It works fine for days and then quits. A reboot will
restore it. My current strategy is to wait and see if the mfg will
update the driver.
