Default Error Service Control Manager Event ID 7026

Hi:

As always as soon as you post a question you normally find the answer
shortly thereafter. So it was in this case, as I spent too much time
Googling looking for someone else's answer and not enough time myself
working on a solution.

Anyway here is the solution that so many that have uninstalled Lavasoft's
Ad-aware and ended up with this same problem.

I ran Autoruns for Windows
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963902.aspx and screened
it closely and found the culprit. It was listed under
HKLM\System|CurrentControlSet\Services and I unticked "Lbd" Ad-aware
Mini-Filter Driver. Rebooted and the problem was gone.

However, to be sure I deleted all aspects of the Lavasoft Lbd Driver I ran
Regedit HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services and deleted the "Lbd" entry.
Now it is entirely gone and no longer appears in Autoruns.

Hi:

I previously had Lavasoft Ad-aware installed and recently uninstalled it.
Now when I open Event Viewer System I am getting an Error Notice applicable
Service Control Manager Event ID 7026. This says" The following Boot-start
or System-start driver failed to open: Lbd"

I have researched and found this to be a Lavasoft driver that apparently
still remains on my computer. This problem has been posted on Lavasoft's
Forum, but apparently no one has an answer on how to find and remove this
driver Lbd.

I am hoping that someone with experience in this area can help me. I know
it's a problem caused by a Lavasoft application, but again I am hoping
someone with enough Windows Experience in removing drivers can help me.

Running Sony desktop VGC-RA716G with Windows MCE(2005) SP3 and all updates
including IE8.

Thanks,

ColTom2
