I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, but I will point out that
Irfanview can rotate JPGs with no loss in quality.


I will check that out.

I've been looking at my pictures and rather than lose quality when
turning a picture right side up, I might gain quality. Rather than
being too short when right side up, it is too narrow when on its side,
and I don't know what I look like, but my good friend next to me has a
face so narrow he appears to be starving. In other pictures that
didn't need rotating, he looks normal. So, yes, even if perchance I
lose "quality", whatever that is, the image will look the way it should,
not squeezed from the side.

I've seen this on the web. I was looking at the website of a membership
organization and they have photos of their more prominent members. 5 or
10% of them have a ridiculously narrow face. I didn't make it to the
web, but when my membership card came, I too looked ridiculous.
