Brett,

use cd and cd.. (two dots) Example
cd.. (gets you to the folder above the one you're in)
cd\ (Gets you to the root folder, generally C)
cd windows (gets you to the windows folder)

..

cd\
cd "Documents and settings" (With quotation marks)
cd "Username"
cd "desktop"
del name_of_file.extension

Hope this helps

I just can't figure out what to do from the comand propt. I tried every
combination of things I could think of. I can't seem to navigate to the

Brett,

Try this:
Open a command prompt (Start Run cmd) and browse to the desktop:
Documents and settings\Username\desktop ( typing cd (Change
directory))
Open task manager (Ctrl + Alt +Del) and kill explorer.exe from there

In the command prompt, type : del source_hdr02

In Task manager, open a new task -- explorer.exe

Good luck

Hi Lola,

Delete it from the XP CD Recovery console.

Or boot from a Windows 98 boot disk and delete it from there.

Good luck

Here is what the jerk does when I try to kill it. Does same thing
in
safe
mode. I am running XP Home SP2 beta. Any way to rid my desktop of
this
thing?
