Hello Jerry:

First, PM version 7.0 is compatible with XP and Win2000.....

What I would suggest is to run PM 7.0 or 7.01 from the floppy boot
disks provided and then try to access the primary partition. If no
joy still, you probably have a damaged partition table or a virus.

Do a virus scan - just in case.

I just downloaded 7.01 and it does the same thing!

I have used Partition Magic for years with no problem. Now I get the
folloing message when trying to resize my primary partition and an
adjacent extended partition. Does anyone know why this might be
happening and what to do about it? I recently resized these very
partitions using PM7. I did install some Norton Utilities (2003) but
uninstalled them in case that was causing the error. Uninstalling
Norton didn't help, however.

Are you using the 7.01 update to PM7? Your basic 7.00 version was not
entirely compatible with WinXP (or Win2k, for that matter).
