The process is accessed via file properties.

Properties Details Remove Properties and Personal Information


What that removes is things like EXIF metadata, rather than attributes
or permissions.

That would be handy for multimedia material which have come from a
fancy digital camera or photos shot with a smartphone. Where there is
plenty of stuff they could throw into the metadata section (like your
GPS coordinates when the picture was taken).


Perhaps I should've used "properties" instead of "attributes" but my
post made clear what I was talking about.

And it did what I said. So obviously it's not just removing GPS
coordinates.
