Before backing up my computer, I like to create a new restore point.
But this morning, when typing into the search box "Create a restore
point" or when using the Control Panel/System/System Protection
routes, clicking the final link to get to System Resto nothing
happens. I have tried both warm and cold reboot, and run sfr
/scannow, which found corrupt files "and repaired them all". Any
ideas?

Thanks!

Tony
Go to System Properties, then System Protection.
OR
Just type restore in the Search box when you click on the
Start button.
If that doesn't do it, at least you didn't waste a lot of time
trying.

Thanks, Buffalo, but I realize I might not have made myself exactly
clear. I *can* get into System Resore proper, if I needed to restore.
What I cannot get into is the page that lets you *create* a restore
point. Usually, I get there by typing "restore point" in the search
box, and clicking the link that says "Create a Restore Point"- but
that link is dead. I can also do it by going to Control
Panel/System/System Protection but that link is dead, also. That's my
problem, as precisely as I can put it.

I often use Restore Point Creator:

Thanks, JT. I tried several freeware programs to create Restore Points,
but Restore Point Creator seems to be the best one IMO, too.
Much obliged.
