Thanks to Paul, Hank, R.C. and VanguardLH for their inputs. I
went to Stardock.com again and downloaded what turned out to be
version 2.12.0 of Fences, later than my version 2.01. After
installation, none of the View or Sort settings were changed,
but I can move my icons wherever I want.
