Default I386 Folder - Safe to Delete?

Thanks Rick - much appreciated - If I have my original XP CD, can I delete
this folder safely then re-download the SP??

Alternatively, can I burn the c:\I386 onto a CD?

Altrenative 2, have I, in some way, mis-applied some service pack to create
this directory? I did another check on Technet but figured that I followed
everything correctly.

Kind regards to you nick for your very helpful advice.

Cindy.

Hi Cindy,

Leave that folder alone. It contains your backup system files, likely placed
on the hard drive so that you can access them if needed by your system
makers recovery software. If you need to replace a system file, or if one is
needed to be added to the system, you will need that folder, as the files in
the recovery software are not likely to be directly accessible otherwise.
SP1 does not replace ALL system files, just certain ones.
