I was working on hooking up my thermaltake blackx box and got it working
finally.
But now I have two additional drives that won't go away.
Both are marked as "removable disk".
These drives were not there before the box was installed.
How can I get rid of them?

Even sfter undocking, and a restart, they remain.

What the heck am I talking about?
A nice little gadget that allows two hard drives to be accessed as an
external drive. Which can be swapped out any time you need to.

Well duhhhhhh.
That was easily fixed. Just go into "disk management" and remove the damn
drive.

It's up to the USB adapter chip inside the enclosure, whether it wants
to respond when no drives are connected. If it responds to probes on
the USB bus, and has its serial number read, the OS will conclude
it's the same device (and drives) as the last time.

If the device simply passes along the SATA signals without
modification, the ESATA interface might be slightly more
well behaved (but require an AHCI driver for the storage
controller on the motherboard, for the hot plug detection).
