Default NO SOUND ON DVD

Palmpixie,
No real help here but you are not alone. I have the identical problem.
Loaded Montego DDL with not a hitch onto a brand new dell with xp pro. All
sounds work beautifully including running a dvd with audio through VLC media
player so I know sound card is right on. I upgraded to Windows Media Player
11, uninstalled, and reinstalled to no avail. Spent 2 hours with a top tech
gentleman from Dell. I know Palmpixie, myself, and I bet a whole lot of
others would really apprectiate a solution(not using vlc, real player, etc.)
to using wmp 11 with ease with a dvd. Anybody out there have an answer.

Thanks, Grandma

Usually the reason for that is you need to subscribe to the dvd playback
software company. They let the dvd run ok,but sound fails, chk youre account
with them, they probably want some money...

Checked my sound card - okay. Ininstalled and reinstalled WMP11 - no obvious
problem or alert. The DVD plays on a trial version player from Corel...both
sound and picture. I can play music on my WMP and it plays the DVD
picture...just no sound on the DVD. I m a novice...so easy on the tech
stuff...THANKS!
