Sounds like it's time for some housekeeping. First,
go into Control Panel - Add/Remove and uninstall
any software you don't use. The n right-click the
Start Menu and click Open. Then right-click the
StartMenu and click Open All Users. The Start Menu
is created from the Programs folders in these two folders.
Start deleting things you don't need. What I like to
do is to make folders named Utilities, Network, Office,
Graphics, etc. Then I put all shortucts to programs into
one of those folders. Then I delete all the other crap --
the 5 other shortcuts that most programs dump into
a Start Menu subfolder.

There's no easy shortcut method that I know of. It's
like asking how to get rid of the 2' pile of dirty clothes
that cover your bedroom floor. You get rid of them by
doing laundry and putting them away.
