Default Help installing .NET framework

Hi,

Start/All Programs/Windows Update,
Let windows scan for the update. after installed all the critcial update, click the other XP update, you can find the Microsoft Net Framework version 1.1 is there.

To save the data on the dying Hdd, switch off the PC, disconnect the AC power cord. Open the chassis and then disconnect the dying Hdd. Jumper the Hdd as slave and then connect it to the other PC as slave then copy all the data from it to the other Hdd. As
you said the Hdd is dying, I would suggest you to copy the files from the dying Hdd instead of using the move command to move the files. Always copy the most important files first. If you have Norton Ghost or other similar imaging software, you can clone
the entire dying Hdd to other Hdd.

My home PC, a DELL 2400 running XP Pro SP1, is starting to have its boot
disk fail. In an effort to reload my OS, etc., onto a new disk, I
encountered a problem loading the Dell Support software. It tells me
that I need to first install .NET framework by going to
windowsupdate.com, which is non-existent.

I looked around support.microsoft.com and couldn't find how to obtain
the .NET framework.

Also, does anyone have any ideas on how I can recover the data from my
dying disk? I forget the manufacturer of the disk, but it's an 80Gig-er
IDE drive that now makes a clicking noise when powered. Every once in a
rare while, it will work briefly. Any suggestions?

TIA,

Steve
