they do not have to monitor "the entire web" - ever hear of something
called statistics? probably not since it involves math that is
beyond your ability.

Of course I have and I know they can be manipulated to tell you just
about anything. Some of my favorites were put out by the tobacco
companies, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend Kools.

As a collector of old time radio shows, I love listening to the
misinformation from the cigarette ads:

Chesterfields: Clinically proven to leave no damaging throat
irritation!

Camels: More doctors smoke Camels than any other cigarette.

Lucky Strike: Her singing coach advised a light smoke.

Lucky Strike: Toasting the tobacco removes dangerous irritants that
cause throat irritation and coughing.

Tipalet: Blow in her face and she'll follow you anywhere.

Viceroy: As your dentist, I would recommend Viceroys

Mecca: Where was Moses when the lights went out? Groping for a pack of
Meccas!

And there are still people who believe that the link between smoking
and lung diseases is unproven, and just a bunch of political hogwash.

so smarty pants, which of your quotes is an example of someone misusing
statistics?

they all sound like shady testimonials and claims to me. not a single
one of them is a misapplied statistic.

then again, this is probably beyond your ability to comprehend.

Where did *I* say someone was misusing statistics? I was talking about
the general misinformation contained in those radio ads.
