I would think that it may be the same for XP, but I am not sure where
to ask the question for Windows 7. Could someone please let me know
how to send faxes from my laptop. The laptop is connected by WiFi
through a router. I am not sure how to connect and set up the Windows
Fax and scan program. Any help would be appreciated.

You can *not* send faxes through a wifi connection. In fact, you can't
send them over the Internet using Windows Fax Services, whether it is
in Windows XP or Windows 7. You need plain old telephone service
(POTS), aka an analog telephone line. You also need a fax modem.

If your laptop has a fax modem and you have access to an analog
telephone line, see

You can always use an email to fax service (not free):
http://www.faxcompare.com/ (I don't vouch for any of the "ratings" on
that site).
