It is like XP. the only difference is it has Metro Apps but you can
delete them if you are not interested in any of them.

Windows 10 is 100% like Windows XP except that Microsoft decided to
call it Windows 10.

What exactly are you finding it difficult to get used to? Please
tell us what is your age. anybody under 65 should get used to
Windows 10 as they are likely to have at least 20 years ahead of
them. Older people should start using Linux because they are not
likely to use a computer for anything other than facebook, twitter,
online shopping, and visiting info sites.

I dont know where you get your information, but I am over 65. I have
been using computers since MSDOS was the only operating system. I do
MOST of my computer work OFFLINE. I do graphic editing, artwork,
office type data, and some audio creations and editing.
I DO NOT use facebook, twitter, or any of that so called "social
media". To me, that is a waste of time and computer resources. I do
little online shopping, and some info sites. I also like to
occasionally watch some youtube videos. Aside from that, and the
newsgroups and email, I'd rather be offline.

Telling elderly people to use linux exposes you as an idiot. I tried
linux, and tossed it in the trash. Far too difficult to setup, (if it
even installs). And requires far too much tweaking, fiddling, and very
annoying bug removal. Its designed for the nerd who wants to waste
their life fighting with their computer, rather than using it. Linux
is crap!

I am 73 and using Open-Shell on top of Windows 10 Pro.

Like you I do not use social media.

Being an engineer I think more structurally and thus want a more structured
menu system like WinXP or Windows 7.

Hopefully you have found an acceptable solution.
