Default Transferring photos from 2 gb memory card to 16 gb card

I know this isn't the proper newsgroup for this issue, but I'm hoping
that someone may have had a similar problem and found a solution for
it.

My Canon Powershot G7 digital camera came with a 2 gb memory card.
Since the card is rapidly filling up, I transferred all the images on
it to a 16 gb card, by first transferring them from the old card to a
folder on my Windows XP (SP3) laptop via the laptop's memory card
port, with the idea of then transferring the transferred images to the
new card. I next formatted the new 16 gb card in the camera (not in
the laptop) and transferred the images to the new card, also via the
laptop's memory card port.

The problem is that the images on the new card are viewable only on
the laptop, but not in the camera. I know all the images are on the
new card because, as I said, they are viewable when the card is
inserted in the laptop.

Here is a link to the details of the old and new cards, in case that
might be relevant: http://i68.tinypic.com/11qipl1.jpg. (Although the
jpg shows the cards to be of different dimensions, they are both the
same dimension).

If anyone has any idea or suggestion of how to make the new card's
images viewable in the camera, I will greatly appreciate it. Also, if
there is a newsgroup that deals with this kind of issue, will
appreciate that also.

TIA,
George

P.S. New pictures taken with the new card in the camera, are viewable
in the camera. It's the transferred ones that are not showing.
