how about the other way around - using a Win-10-nic "new computer tax"
license to install windows 7 ???


Buy a Business class computer with a Win10 Pro SKU on it,
and see if the Downgrade Rights are still present.

The computer companies cannot sell what they haven't got.
In particular, new hardware has no drivers for Windows 7,
as support was cut off early in hardware-ville.

If you expect Downgrade Rights to work, talk to the
pre-sales rep and see if the Win7 image you want can
be factory installed as your Downgrade. If there's no
Win7 video driver for your new laptop, then I wouldn't
bother.
