Default Is there any functionality the iTunes abomination does, for a dual-boot Win/Ubuntu PC that can't be done, better, WITHOUTiTunes?

Years ago I found the music streaming availability on iTunes with all the
genres useful. But I do recall something about Bonjour and its zeroconf

expressed functionality.

Hi Hemidactylus,

All I ever care about, are the facts of the matter.

Thanks for that input on what, possibly, iTunes can do for a user, for
free, on a PC that the user wants to do, and which the user can't already
do better, without the iTunes freeware installed.
o It seems there are so many ways to 'listen to' music it's not funny.

I'm not a big music fan, but I've learned over the years that MARKETING has
a field day "providing ready-made solutions" to common needs, for people
who don't want to think all that much (e.g., data backup & recovery, DVD
ripping & burner software, snapshot & image editors, music & video players,
video & music downloaders, etc.).

In addition, I'm not sure what you exactly mean by "music streaming", where
maybe others who use iTunes for "music streaming" can expound; but I
generally quite easily freely download any music I want sans iTunes to
store, and play, on my iPods, iPads, Android devices, hard drives, flash
drives (anything in fact, that stores data), or PC.

Once downloaded (which is all automatic), I can freely "play music".

Personally, I don't "stream music" (why bother streaming when downloading
is essentially automatic anyway?), where I googled how Windows or Linux
would freely "stream music" sans iTunes.

to ask someone who "streams music" what iTunes does for them on a typical
dual-boot PC that they can't do better WITHOUT iTunes with respect to
"streaming music"?

We are talking almost a decade ago but iTunes had oodles of content
available and I liked it. I don’t give a flying **** how that processes in
your ****ed up festering ****-tank you call a brain. Pandora always seemed
a silly waste of time when I have Youtube. Soundcloud is cool for limited
interest esoteric stuff. I’d rather be shot in the skull by a rusty bail
gun than stoop to Google Play Music whatever the **** that is. Sounds
horrible.
