I have all sorts of stuff lying about including an unopened copy of WFW

most of them don't realize they have until it all goes tits up.

Basically the position I take is that if someone is going to use this
technology without making the effort to at least learn the basics,
they are victims by definition and it just doesn't matter what happens
to them. It's like someone wanting to drive a car without knowing what
any of the controls do, what traffic signals are for, or understanding
that some maintenance is required. Let them lose their photos, documents,
etc., out of sheer ignorance. (I've seen it happen more than once.) No
skin off my nose, and it'll be a learning experience for them.

Unfortunately I've seen the effects that losing treasured photos, email
and memories can have on people, particularly the older members of our
community. It can be something akin to losing a treasured pet and most
times there's absolutely nothing I can do to help them.

I'm starting to recommend Dropbox but that has it's own issues.

As for the 'Micro$oft cloud' spyware.
Not on my watch.
