$$ Then how do I download the Active-X from HP's website???

It is in the Internet Explorer settings under
Options/Security. You'll have to play with it yourself to figure it out.

$$ Following the HP websites information I set my security to MEDIUM and
the SP2 thing still wouldn't allow the download, even though it said to
CLICK the bar to allow it. I feel like I've given up the power over my PC
to MS. The bar shouldn't say CLICK HERE if it still don't allow the
download.


Press the Custom Level button. Check out the settings to do with ActiveX.
Make sure you write down any changes you do so you can set it back. I would
try the suggestion from Laythos first and add the HP site to the Trusted
Sites.
