Default Microsoft to force Windows 10 users to use its Edge web browser

It runs in my mind that if the original Windows 10 pro the updates could
be shut off, or disabled for a period. It is possible that over the
updates that function has been remove.

Thanks for that observation Keith, in that you are correct, I had the older
version that I was able, somehow, to prevent updating.
- Windows 10 Pro Version 1511 OS Build 10586.1106 (November 12, 2015)

What I do now, is pause updates, which is only a stopgap measure.
And I have the automatic reboot turned off as shown below, but I'm not sure
if I can "back out" those updates once installed.

HOW TO TURN OFF AUTOMATIC REBOOT:
Open the control panel using the power windows shell (so you can be admin)
Control Panel
System and Security
Administrative Tools
Task Scheduler
Task Scheduler Library
Microsoft
Windows
UpdateOrchestrator
Right click on Reboot task,
and Disable it.
