Default Burning a DVD

I am an ultrasonographer. When I transfer the studies which are in
cypress format to my hard disc, I right click on these files and
select send to 'DVD'. After that I see a pop up saying files are
ready to be written on dvd and that's how I make a dvd of the
studies. Same thing when I try on another computer also having
windows xp and pentium 4, gives an error. What could be the possible
cause and How can it be fixed? thanks a million for any help.
