Karen's Directory Printer is free, and it solved all these problems.
It's a GUI, and it runs in Win98 or XP. Nice piece of software and
eliminates all ths dos crap.

Does it actually do anything other than what the above line does? If
not, then the DOS "crap" is to me just as usable.

The Dos stuff is usable, but a pain in the ass to do, and then there are
those unreadable (in Windows) files it creates using "Tree".
Using that program is so easy. You can include or exclude many things,
such as file date, size, attribute, folders, and much more. I found that
including everyting made a lenghty file that became cluttered and hard
to read due to multiple lines for each file. I settled on filename,
length, date and folders (ONLY). That made a nice easy to read text
file.

Why dont you just try the program. It's free and a small download. You
wont even need to read any instructions, it's easy to use. Just play
with the settings to get it to appear the way you like the best.
(It has the option to save your settings too). I recommend it as GOOD!

Oh, when you save the text file, you can choose where to save it, and
give it your own name. I gave it names like test1, test2 test3, until I
got it the way I liked....
