" What the heck is" configure my mike? You say if you can hear the mike playing through your speakers then its "MISCONFIGURED" (your words exactly) so I changed the setting to recording only but evertime I start my computer it starts in playback mode. How
do I fix this?

Id also like to say thanks from all of us for all the time you put in answering our problems. Its a great help and alleviates a hell of alot of frustration (still hate computers though lol sorry)
