I know this is not on subject entirely, however I can use whatever
suggestions you may have. I cannot stand another pop-up, spam or
those small gray boxes that also pop-up. Does anyone have a
suggestion of a program they are using to stop this insanity? If so
could you also tell me why you chose this particular program. I need
to do something soon. I am ready to bounce the computer right out

Install a firewall like Zonealarm or Kerio or activate the built-in XP
Firewall.
