Default Help! Folder View Settings Problem!

Got a new PC. Noticed it has service pack 3, which is new for me.
Whether that is the culprit in some way, I don't know!

Anyway, I'm well used to changing folder view settings, applying to
all folders, etc. It's always worked for me. However, this PC just
won't save them beyond a few hours, occasionally a day (varies).

I've been reading and reading on the web, and people mention a limit
(400?) of views XP can remember, so that's another reason why I've
never had this before (old PC didn't have may files and folders).

Whatever..... I've spent a week trying to find a fix. Lots of people
mention changing registry settings, re BagMru keys etc. I am
comfortable with regedit, so have tried them, but it STILL comes back.

I've tried all the suggestions in forums, from "Kelly's Corner" to you
name it, but nothing fixes it permanently.

Can anyone please suggest what I might try next?

Thank you.
Max.
