Angry Defragment Program Won't start

I have been using XP pro for a few years updating it over these years. Now my Defragment Program will not start or precisely error mesage " Defrag cannot initialize" when I use the defragmentation program.

You fellows out there can you give some idea on how to solve this fault. I ran out of ideas.

thanks..
