I run VirtualBox on this machine, with a dual core, and it just doesn't have the poop needed to run the graphics at full speed. The "experimental DirectX acceleration" in VirtualBox does nothing for LinuxMint guest. As for Windows 10, it isn't that scary. Here is Pan running in Win10. https://s27.postimg.org/a0mcm6tvn/PAN_on_Win10.jpg The Win10 doesn't run that snappy in VirtualBox either. I had to cut the nuts off it, to speed it up (rename msmpeng.exe, neuter a backgroundtaskhost set of DLLs, disable wuaueng or so, and so on). If you don't cut the nuts off it, Microsoft manages to run the dual cores at 100%... doing sweet **** all. At least now, with some of their stuff disabled, I have enough cycles left to do a Pan install :-) Previous releases weren't this bad. So my Win10 VM won't be receiving updates, nor will it have a working Windows Defender. No big deal. One of the reasons for trying that, is I wanted to see if the OS was self-repairing, and could undo my changes. I was kinda surprised they didn't run DISM and SFC /scannow and get even with me for doing that. I did the renames from Linux, so permissions would not be a problem. Paul |

Paul Ah yes, another linux retard who blames MS for the substandard behavior and performance of a third party product from Oracle. I guess you'll blame the guns for the shooting in Las Vegas too. |
