Default Microsoft installer error: 1326 Failed to install update. Anyone else having recent issues updating the TurboTax software on Windows 10 lately?

Do you have this recent TurboTax software-update Microsoft error?
https://i.postimg.cc/13smDLVN/ttaxupdate01.jpg

It says it's a "Microsoft Error" of some sort:

*Microsoft installer error: 1326 Failed to install update.*
.. Anyone else having recent issues updating TurboTax Win10 software?

Every year, the one program I purchase for Windows, is TurboTax:
https://i.postimg.cc/SQDDyqSZ/ttax00.jpg

I installed this TurboTax on Windows 10 months ago, as I was getting ready
for April 15th, but then they extended the deadline, so now I'm getting
back to finishing up my federal taxes using Turbotax on Win10 Pro.
https://i.postimg.cc/C1BB9WNx/ttaxupdate02.jpg

It insists on updating whenever I try to run a review, for example:
https://i.postimg.cc/yxnDRs6n/ttaxupdate04.jpg

Or even when I open an existing tax file, for example:
https://i.postimg.cc/vTCp36mm/ttaxupdate06.jpg

Yet, some things do work just fine, as far as I can tell:
https://i.postimg.cc/JnkgtzxV/ttaxupdate07.jpg

There's a notification in my Turbotax inbox, but it's just covid stuff:
https://i.postimg.cc/SNs6Gv0j/ttaxupdate08.jpg

For days now, every time I try to update, I get this message:
.. TurboTax 2019 - Update
... Failed Updates:
.... Program Updates (Critical)
..... Failed to install update. Microsoft installer error: 1326,
Error getting file security:
C:\ProgramData\Intuit\ GetLastError: 5 "Check for solution"
(Released 6/6/2020) Program Updates "More details"

When I click on "Check for solution", it comes up to:
.. https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/viewResult.jsp?act=1&prid=4&docid=SLN46781&id=3355 4432
Which says:
"We're sorry, the page you requested could not be found"

When I click on "More details", it comes up to:
Which then changes to:
Which is utterly worthless.

I called TurboTax at 800-358-6057 who told me to press
.. {shift+enter}
Which popped up a code for them to view my screen as I tried it again.
.. But in the end, they were as befuddled as I was as to the cause.

They said it's some kind of "Microsoft security" problem...
.. Based on the error message itself...

So they told me to call Microsoft.
.. Anyone else having a problem updating Turbotax 2019 recently?

Sometimes you find someone else who already solved this particular issue.

UPDATE:
*What I need is a way to query for what Microsoft thinks was the last file*

Microsoft doesn't have much on its Microsoft Installer error 1326:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/msi/windows-installer-error-messages
"Error getting file security: [3] GetLastError: [2]"

o *Need help with error 1326 when installing software*
https://windowsforum.com/threads/need-help-with-error-1326-when-installing-software.40461/
"Windows Installer Error 1326 where GetLastError
refers to error getting file security."

But what the heck file is Microsoft missing its "file security" on?
o There's nothing in the M$ error message that indicates a specific file.

There is no anti-virus running (other than Windows defender defaults).
o That forum article recommends "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

The forum article also recommends "Reinstall Windows Installer 4.5"
o Download Windows Installer 4.5 redistributable
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/942288/windows-installer-4-5-is-available

I ran "Take Ownership" on "C:\ProgramData\Intuit\"

How to take full ownership of files or folders on Windows
o https://winaero.com/blog/add-take-ownership-context-menu-windows-10/
o https://winaero.com/e107_files/downloads/take_ownership_context_menu.zip

SHA256: 72212344BFCC8FC5DAFB8726EB6A136EFBAA511D27ED27FBB5 738540E26BA12D

I'm not sure _which_ "take ownership" I had as when I checked the URL, I
found two of them, where this could have been the one I loaded long ago:
o https://www.majorgeeks.com/content/page/take_full_ownership_of_files_folders.html
Name: Take Full Ownership of Files - Folders Context Menu.zip

What would be nice is if someone knows how to query which _file_ Microsoft
Installer is complaining about when Microsoft issues an error 1326.

UPDATE:
Microsoft Event Viewer msiInstaller Event:

To try to figure out what file the Microsoft installer was failing to
obtain permissions on, I ran the Microsoft event viewer...
.... Win+R eventvwr

Which found the two times I tried to update Turbotax recently:

Still, nothing about the specific file that Windows Installer doesn't like.
o Do you know how to get Microsoft to tell me which file it doesn't like?

SOLVED:
https://i.postimg.cc/3xWwtSP7/ttaxupdate15.jpg

"Take ownership" seems to have resolved the Microsoft permission problem:
o https://i.postimg.cc/3Jm1d1L8/ttaxupdate13.jpg

This is the winaero take-ownership context-menu tweak I recommend:
o https://winaero.com/e107_files/downloads/take_ownership_context_menu.zip
Name: take_ownership_context_menu.zip
Size: 931 bytes
SHA256: 72212344BFCC8FC5DAFB8726EB6A136EFBAA511D27ED27FBB5 738540E26BA12D

Who knows why, but the C:\ProgramData\Intuit\ permission issues which the
Microsoft msiInstaller complained about, had consistently come at around 8%
https://i.postimg.cc/rsY8cmw6/ttaxupdate05.jpg

After taking ownership, the Microsoft Installer now goes to 100%:
o https://i.postimg.cc/DyTsYTgh/ttaxupdate14.jpg

The result is that the TurboTax update finally installed itself:
o https://i.postimg.cc/y6m4zmFR/ttaxupdate16.jpg

Now I get this message:
.. TurboTax 2019 - Update
... Successful Updates:
.... Program Updates (Critical)
..... (Released 6/6/2020) Program Updates "More details"

When I click on "More details", it comes up to the same thing as befo
.. http://turbotax.intuit.com/support/in-product/434-release-notes-2012-ind/
Which then changes to the same thing it changed to as befo
.. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/using-turbotax/help/turbotax-release-notes-for-windows-personal-tax-software/00/26799

Now that the errant Microsoft MSI Installer finally worked, the update
worked, and therefore TurboTax proceeds, e.g., for audit risk checks:
https://i.postimg.cc/xTysjycn/ttaxupdate17.jpg
--
In my entire life, they never bothered to audit me; so I'm paying too much.
