Default 1803 is still available


For those of you still looking for the official download of Windows
10-1803 then it is still available. i just tried it and it works:

I got it Tuesday from Windows Update.


That would be 1809.

The 1803 would be April.

Using "winver" as a command, you can check which
one is there.

1803 = 17134.xxx
1809 = 17763.xxx

For a limited time, the old OS is stored in C:\Windows.old
and that folder has a few more things than just the OS in it.
It will auto-delete on its own, or you could use "cleanmgr.exe".
Don't try to delete Windows.old by tossing in the Trash,
or there will be a royal mess (I tried that once).

The "xxx" value is .1 when the OS reboots for the
first time after install. But it can check for
updates right after that, and end up at .55
or .134 before you know it.

If you need the OS frozen at .1 , you can unplug
the network cable so it can't get the patch. And
then think about what to do next.
