Default Virtual PC

I have windows 7 professional in which I have installed MS virtual PC. When
I enter Windows XP Mode it does not recognize the printer installed in
Windows 7. The printer is a HP LaserJet P1006 (USB).

Any help would be appreciated.

Install the printer driver in the virtual machine (the guest machine).

Choose the XP version of the driver.

When I moved to Windows 7, my old HP Scanjet IIc wouldn't
work at first.

It turned out that the problem was actually with the SCSI
card interface that the scanner used.

Here are my notes from the ordeal:

After reading in alt.comp.periph.scanners about Barry
Watzman success in getting his
Nikon film scanner to work under Windows 7, I picked up an
Adaptec AHA-2940 AU SCSI card at the surplus store near
work, downloaded drivers from Adaptec
(aic78xx_aic78u2_vista_x86_v605456.exe and aspi_471a2.exe),
and "tried many things", starting with Barry's instructions,
and ending up running the "Update Drivers" thingie in Device
Manager for the 2940 card, and it worked! Installed HP
Deskscan II, OmniPage 11, and all work!

Hope that helps.

Barry and I chatted many times over the many years. And I don't know if
you know this, but he passed on May 17, 2010.
