If that was the truth, then way does Linux have less then 5% of the desktops? Let's see, how did you come up with that figure? Supposedly, there are about 1 billion computers on line in the world which would mean, according to your figures, that there a 50 million Linux users. Fact is, however, that no one knows how many Linux installs there are because Linux doesn't need to be activated or become "genuine" and there are no store receipts to count like there is with Windows. web stats don't need receipts. it counts everybody equally no matter where or how they got their os. Web stats are not reliable because they only monitor certain sites, not the entire web. They only report global usage and never do it by country. Again, if you were to take the USA out of the picture, Linux usage would be much higher. Also, for example, if you monitor msn.com and don't monitor ubuntu.com, you have skewered stats. I would bet that idealista.com isn't monitored even though it's one of the most popular sites in Spain. got any credible stats that show linux having more than 5% market share? Can't read? of course you do not. You have a serious reading comprehension problem. I suspect if you take the stats of the backwards USA out of the picture, the user share for Linux would be much higher. After all, only the USA could have such ignorant, biased bigots running for congress like there are today. Those same supporters of Beck, Limbaugh, Palin, O'Donnell and Rand Paul don't know any better than to order a computer from Best Buy with Windows preloaded. I never knew that only republicans buy computers with Windows preloaded. Not what I wrote. The point is that the USA has a large chunk of the usage world wide and most Americans aren't very hip as is evidenced by the fact that the above named idiots may very well take over congress. -- Alias |

Of course I have and I know they can be manipulated to tell you just about anything. Some of my favorites were put out by the tobacco companies, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend Kools. so do you have something to backup your claim that these stats are being manipulated or are you pulling a Rex Ballard and simply making up some bull**** to reinforce your own denial? since collected statistics don't give you the answer you would like in your mind it is easier to claim that the stats are lies. how very sad that you need to deny and ignore the pieces of reality that don't fit your agenda. They only report global usage and never do it by country. great job. you are now 0 for 2. Market Share Worldview http://marketshare.hitslink.com/report.aspx?qprid=12 Gotta sign up which I ain't a-gonna do. There is no by country at that site. then do not sign up. but there are companies who are interested in such numbers and are willing to pay for premium data. you on the other hand are limited to the aggregate data that they are willing to share for free. but do not lie and claim that usage by country is not available. this data is available to anyone interested enough who is willing to pay. Also, for example, if you monitor msn.com and don't monitor ubuntu.com, you have skewered stats. are you really this stupid. of course the companies who make their living every day collecting and analyzing stats are well aware of this. They're wrong but he spouts them. Does that, in your twisted mind, make them true? they do not have to be perfect - that is your false dichotomy. the stats only have to be accurate or representitive. not perfect. have fun with your political witch-hunt. by you having to throw Palin and Beck at me to bolster your point only shows how pathetically weak your argument really is. then just answer the question. show a credible stat or survey showing linux at above 5% marketshare. I never said there was one. In fact, I said it's impossible to know and told you why. You're a perfect example of a windroid, stupid as ****. and now it comes out just how weak your argument is. you have nothing to backup your claim so you resort to "windroid, stupid as ****" which says more about you and your position than it says about me. |

Why I no Longer Use Windows 7.
Using Linux makes you disoriented and you lose your bearings. For example, this is a Windows 7 Newsgroup but you didn't know it and started your rant about linux and all that. You will get brain damage and this will make you suck Alias' small cock (perhaps this is how you got the name Cockslee) which has been circumcised by his jewish mum! Can you imagine a situation where a boy has VERY SMALL PENIS and his mum forces you to cut it off!! Incidentally, jews have big noses because the air is free!!!! Robin T Cockslee wrote: I have to admit that Windows 7 is most likely the bestest version of Windows since Windows 2000 but even still I have removed it from my Dell system in favor of Linux Ubuntu which I just upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 from 10.04 with not a single trouble. Linux just does everything I need and does it for free. I can compile a slim kernel to use on my P4 system or I can have a fat kernel for my i7 system. It's my choice. Windows 7 puts an extra 100 mb partition on my drive that I don't want. Why is that? Linux does what I tell it to do instead of doing what some corrupt company thinks I want to do. I use my Garmin GPS, Android phone, Sansa mp3 player and my Sony USB turntable with Linux and have no problems. So why spend $165 on Windows 7? I've been asking myself the same question. Time to ebay the dung pile and get back at least some of my money. Linux may not be the most popular system but in my opinion it's the best, at least for me. |
