Remove the Windows 8.1 back option
Hello,
Excuse my English, but i am French .... I migrated from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on July 10th, 2015.... As the Windows.old was too big, i removed the folder, a few days later.. We are now on November 20, 2015, (more than 1 month later...) and i still do not have the option to migrate to "Windows 10 1115" Looking to the Parameters, i found that i still have the option to return back to Windows 8.1, (but no Windows.old...) How to remove this option, to have the possibility to migrate to "1115" ?? Note, I tried to cleanup the C: disk with the Windows option, tried also to recreate the "Windows.old".... but nothing happens... Many thanks for your help. |

Microsoft don't release new builds to everyone at the same time. If you are later than others it may be where you are in the world or it might be hardware compatibility with your PC. The official way to remove the old files is this: 1) Go to: Start Settings System Storage 2) Click on "This PC" 3) Scroll down to and click on "Temporary files" 4) Click the button to remove the previous version of Windows. This can take some time -- the old files are not deleted immediately. But when the old files are (eventually) deleted in this way, the option to go back should also be gone. If you removed the .old folder in some other way, maybe the option to go back won't be gone. -- Kind regards Ralph |
