Default Selective Uninstaller?

Is anyone aware of a uninstall program that can do a selective, and somewhat
manual or guided, uninstall, and NOT rely on either the windows Add-Remove
or program's own uninstaller)? An uninstaller that will let you choose
exactly what registry entries AND what files on the hard drive are going to
removed, showing you a list with checkboxes (which you can uncheck)
beforehand?
And finally, without needing to be run beforehand (i.e. before the program
was installed to log the differences)?

For example, I'm not sure if Total Uninstall can do this, but I seem to
recall at least it shows you the entries, or at least some of them. And as
I recall, Revo Uninstaller cannot do this, either (where you can select
exactly what registry entries and what files are removed - without running
the program's own uninstaller beforehand).

On occasion I've uninstalled some programs with dire consequences to other
programs because the uninstaller removed some shared files.

Well; you have to pay attention when you uninstall something and use care in
removing shared resources. I've never seen an OS that worked any dfferently
than that but some keep better track than others. They all tell you a
resource is "shared" and ask you to OK the removal. What's your
computer/OS/OS Verson?

Just re-install the programs that stopped working; and you'll be back in
business. And quickly/easily if you're doing true backups of your boot
drive.

Default Selective Uninstaller?

Just an update:
Looks like Revo Uninstaller Pro might fit the bill, for anyone who's
interested,
for a flexible program uninstaller (which can err on the safe side, if used
properly, and not uninstall some other shared files). It seems the Pro
version has such features (via Forced Uninstall).

Often the program's own installer (like Add-Remove) gives you few (if any)
options on what specifically is going to be uninstalled, and occasionally
with dire consequences. (Of course one could do a kludge "solution" for
that problem by reinstalling the app again, and just living with it).
