They are on the CD that came with the computer. It should be labeled
utilities and drivers or similar.

Hi,

You must install the right drivers for your card. Appearantly Windows
didn't recognize it.
(Even IF windows DID recognize it, it might be a good idea to install
the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer anyway.)
The best place to look for drivers is at the website of the supplier or
manufacturer.
To find out what Windows thinks about your card:
Go to control panel. (Start - settings - controlpanel)
Select SYSTEM icon
New window opens. CLick the tab labeled HARDWARE.
Now click on 'DEVICE MANAGER'
Here you see a list.
Open Network Adapters.
If you see questionmarks or yellow ! you know something is not OK with
the drivers according to windows.
You can rightClick the icon now and select properties to inspect and
adjust futher.

If your networkcard shows up fine: Possibility2: The card IS recognized
and even working fine, but you didn't configure it yet. (eg tell it
which gateway to use for TCP/IP.) This is hard to tell without knowing
more about your network.

Both senarios might be difficult to fix if you are a (self proclaimed)
computer illiterate.

Good luck.

Regards,
Erwin Moller

The drivers maybe on a drivers cd supplied with your PC, or if its a large
OEM like Dell obtainable from their web site for the specific model

Use another system to navigate to your make and model via the web. All
driver downloads will be listed there for the taking. Download them to a
pen drive, etc. Install.
