Default "MY Computer" open or explore freezes

When I try to open "My Computer" or even 'explore' it hangs
and never opens. I am then forced to force close the window
that is sitting there.

I have run a check for spyware and a full anti-virus check.
I am on SP1, on XP pro on a network.

I had noticed that when I open a box to 'save' or 'open
file' it was taking a while to open, and now this has
developed.

Has anyone any idea of what is happening?

Many thanks,

Ellie
