Associating files with HTM
I instaled the compatibility pack and after the install it lost the
association for HTM HTML to IEExplorer.exe. Further it won't let me associate it. I browse, and select it, and it takes the program off the first list.....Word, Excel. It doesn't list ieexplorer on that first list either. |

Associating files with HTM
The executable for Internet Explorer is
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" not IEExplorer.exe Try that instead or try here and use the HTM/HTML fix: XP File Association Fixes-Doug Knox: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm ....Alan -- Alan Edwards, MS MVP Windows - Internet Explorer http://dts-l.com/index.htm On Tue, 6 Oct 2009 12:46:01 -0700, in microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support, David Webb wrote: I instaled the compatibility pack and after the install it lost the association for HTM HTML to IEExplorer.exe. Associating files with HTM
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the 'set program access and defaults'
and it still did not reinstate the HTML file associations. Finally reinstalled IE and it fixed them.
